Illam is a district of Nepal situated in the eastern part of Nepal which borders with India in the east. This district is popular for its natural scenery. Most part of the Illam is covered by hills filled with tea plants.

Reaching Illam isn't that difficult since eastern Nepal is far more developed than the Northern part of western and the far western region.

I) Antu Danda

It is a small hill situated in illam which offers the view of sunrise and sunset in the Himalayas. The height of this hill is around 2320 metres from the sea level. You can have a look of the flat lands of Terai, tea gardens and other hills from Antu Danda. It is 3 hour drive long from the Bazaar.
It offers the view of Darzeeling as well.

II) Sadakpur
It is also hill at the height of 3630 metres from the sea level. It lies near the IndoNepal border in the east. It offers the view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu and Mt. Kanchanjunga of the Himalayas. It also habitat of very rare animals like Red Panda and Lophophorus. 

III) Mai Pokhari
This lake lies in a forest of fir and offers a amazing view. The forest shelters various rare animals like Musk Deer, Porcupine and Leopard. This lake is popular for its its religious importance in Hindu religion and people worship Lord Bhagawati here.

IV) Kanyam And Fikkal

Kanyam is popular for sight seeing, picnic and photography of the landscapes filled with tea gardens. Kanyam and Fikkal are very popular around the world for its tea gardens. The slopes of the hills makes the place best for agriculture of tea.
