Tumlingtar is a region and a city, in Eastern Nepal, between the Arun and Sabha Rivers situated in Kosi Zone province NO 1. Being in Sankhuwasabha district, it is one of the major tourist destination in Nepal. Its geographical location is 27.30 North, 87.20 East.

TRANSPORTATION
Earlier the modes of transportation for the place were difficult, nowadays
being a tourist spot, it has also attracted some forms of urbanization due to which you can easily reach Tumlingtar.
You can easily get a bus from the district headquarter, Khadbari. Additionally, the most preferred mode of transportation to reach Tumlingtar is aviation. You can easily get air tickets from any air ticket vendors or you can easily contact your trip manager or the trip management company.

Citizens of most of the countries can easily get the VISA for Nepal or there may be the provision of VISA-ON-ARRIVAL depending upon your home country.
ACCOMMODATION
There are various small-hotels available around Tumlingtar but they lack facilities to meet international standards. Since the cost of living in Nepal is comparatively lower than rest of the world, the hotels may cost you from $10-$50 depending upon the type of hotel. Also, home stays are also popular in the place. Locals are very friendly and will be glad for hosting any tourist coming to their place for visit. You will experience the typical Nepali cuisine in home stays.
For long stays, tourists prefer hostels rather than home stays and hotels.
This is the most cheaper of all.
ENVIRONMENT
Since this lies in upper hilly region, the climate is mild. You will experience cool at the morning and evening but is mild other times. The scenery of the place is just amazing. Cool breeze at the morning will cheer you, believe me.
CULTURE AND RELIGION
The indigenous tribes of this region are Kumal, Majhi etc. These days various other tribes has also started to live in Tumlingtar which shows racial and cultural harmony. Most of the people follow HINDUISM but very few of them are Christians, Muslims and Buddhists.
Pottery and handcrafting is quite popular and is the major source of income but these days their professions are diversified.

a) Manakamana Temple
This is one of the major tourist attraction. It lies just 3 km far from the Tumlingtar airport. This temple has a major religious importance for people following hinduism. Even if you aren't a hindu, the trek to the mountains is just amazing. You can experience cable-cars in the hills to have the wide view of the place. It is believed that the temple hosts Goddess Bhagawati and is believed that the goddess fulfils anyone's wishes visiting the temple.
The smell of the orange orchids during winter polishes your trek to the Manakamana temple.
b) Nature itself
The entire tumlingtar is Arun river and Sabha river. The Arun hydroelectricity project is visited by students across the country to study about the project.
Makalu Barun National Park is a national park of national importance which consists of various rare animals and birds in the world. If you are thinking for safaris, this is the right place for you.
If you are a photographer, then i'm quite sure that you'll get some of the best shots in your career.
c) Gupteswor Mahadev {This is a temple of Hindu god Shiva/Mahadev}
